OBSCENE, Que Si o Que No

Chappy’s Blog

The 1960’s started out with promise. Post WW II America was in economic expansion, John F. Kennedy had taken over from Dwight Eisenhower, and young people were involved and optimistic about the future. (During the Eisenhower presidency, the Civil Rights Act of 1957 was enacted, and became law) The sixties were a time of time of change in America. The era of the civil rights movement had begun, followed by the U.S. involvement in the Vietnam problem, and the police action that escalated there shortly after the assassination of President Kennedy. These three events, the Civil Rights Act, Vietnam, and the assassination of JFK set up the turmoil in our country. These events changed our country and the world. We also saw the emergence of the feminist movement, environmentalism, Mexican American activism, and political correctness. The movement evolved into the age of unlimited freedom for those that had been waiting in the wings to control society by word, thought and intimidation. The obscene became normal, and the masses gave in to the constant bombardment of false information. Our history was nullified and cancelled. Spirituality was now in the hands of “men”, and our God was under constant attack.

America, in the midst of the Industrial age was to be overtaken by the information age. With advent of the first computers, the “Eniac” computer, the new media age had begun. Over the following decades, pagers, then cell phones were introduced along with fax machines, email and on and on. Cell towers were erected which picked up cell phone electromagnetic waves to a cell tower, which sent a signal to a switching center. The technology industry eventually became the primary economy of the nation. What is important to note is that this new age, this new technology has changed how we live and look upon one another. We know more now, but actually know less. We accept what we are told by the media in its many forms, and act out according to the authority that is controlling the idea. It is a very effective means of communicating someone else’s opinion to make it our own. Interaction with no cost to the perpetrator(s), and a terrible price paid by the ignorant and uninformed.

Have you seen incidents of road rage lately? I see it just about every time that I am out and about. This behavior is no longer a phenomenon, it is a common occurrence that we all see on a daily basis. The uncivility of people today reaches beyond the normal, it breaches every standard of civil behavior that there is. Pay attention, next time you’re in a box store or anywhere that people gather, you will see what I am talking about. It is normal today to use the word “f   k”. I’ve heard this word used by children to grannies. It is a common word used in music, movies, media, and by those idiots that can’t come up with the proper words to use when expressing their thoughts. It is a profanity that is uncivil, uncouth, and an insult to our God, wives, mothers, and to our children. Media and lack of thought are at the root of the antithesis of civil behavior. These days, it seems that we accept idea’s based on consensus opinion, rather than thinking it out. Convenience wins out. If certain people riot, loot and burn, it is called a “peaceful protest”. If other people protest, even peacefully, it is called a “riot”! The forner is called upon and praised by media and other people. The latter is referred to as insurrection. The freedom to speak one’s mind is being squashed. We are involved in the time of the “Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”.  (1966 Western/Spaghetti Western)

The ease of communicating information, right or wrong is causing time to move at a faster rate. There is no real leisure time anymore. Technology demands that we constantly fuss with our mobile devices, technology that constantly demands our full attention. Tell me it isn’t so! Society demands our time, and it also requires that we adhere to the present modernism as the key to our success or wellbeing. Fit in or get lost is the new mantra. To be civil means to do the right thing. Technology in itself is a good thing. However, if technology owns you, don’t you think it is time to take a step back and look at who is benefitting from its constant use? Repetitive words and opinions heard often enough can fool people into thinking that what they are hearing and seeing is the norm. This repetition of words and thoughts eventually persuades people to act out in word or opinion, thus creating the illusion of societal agreement. Thinking is out the door, which leaves emotion to rule the day.

I can dig deep and give you many examples of what I am talking about, but I am only to give you one example. I think that you’ll get the picture. I am not going after this organization out of rancor, but because of what it is not teaching anymore. The Information Age is at the forefront of the organizations failure to lead, as they have fallen from the graces of truth, and into the abyss of modernism. Their failures are many, but I will speak only of one. This failure to lead and teach a particular truth that happens to be the tenet of what the whole organization is based on. Last week the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) met in their annual General Assembly meeting to discuss among other things, the “Eucharistic Revival Initiative”. The initiative called for a meeting in 2024 to discuss “Socially Responsible Investment Guidelines”.  This particular agenda item was voted on and passed, Well and good, but one important issue was left out and never discussed. Should those people that call themselves Catholic be allowed to receive Holy Communion if they support abortion rights for women. The face list included politicians as well as known Catholics that support abortion choice for women. The bishops passed on this most important item and chose to leave it up to any particular diocese bishop to decide whether or not to allow known Catholic proponents of abortion to receive the eucharist. Why is this such a big deal to me? I am a catholic, and I know that the Catholic Church teaches that communion should not be given to communicants that support abortion. Cannon Law and the Catechism are very clear on the law, and the very basis of the faith demand that this teaching be taught and adhered too. Why did the bishops leave this very important issue out of the voting? Here’s why! The technology that dictates social acceptance today also controls a group of men that have taken it upon themselves to modernize the church. Just like modern politicians, we are not being asked how we feel about it, and more importantly the bishops, like their counterpart politician friends simply do not care if its right or wrong. If they shut down communion to abortion supporting Catholics and politicians, they fear political and monetary reprisals coming their way. Trouble is, Jesus Christ has once again been betrayed. This is a good example of following the modern crowd that is both undermines and control our lives by linking up on social causes,  while and ignoring moral teaching. God is not even an afterthought to these men and to the Catholics that run on the same wave length. The blood and the guts of the 66,000,000 aborted babies runs deep inside the obscene souls that aid and abet in the breaking of the Sixth Commandment, Thou Shall Not Commit Murder. (The Ten Commandments) I pray daily for these poor souls. May God have Mercy on us All!

The world seems to be in a state of disrepair in this time. There is an uncivil disunity that is threatening our very survival. Those not in denial, can clearly see that we will never be back to yesterday’s normality. We are a changed people that have left the notion behind, that we can come to beneficial and productive conclusion’s by simply thinking and reasoning things out. Instead, a good number of people have embraced the “woke” mentality to stay angry and stay woke. In other words, blame injustice on racism at every turn, and attack and cuss out anyone that disagrees with their woke-ism. The “f__k” word is an important part of this movement. The word carries over to those people that are supposed to lead us and teach fundamental truths in both our spiritual and temporal lives. They are turning out to be dismal failures. My best advice to you, and especially for myself is to remain true to high moral standards, and to investigate claims and opinions that others put forth as truths. When it is time to check out of this life, we will be asked to account for the truth of our love, and nothing more !

This narrative is not meant to point out errors in people. I too have been there. The world is at a crossroads. We need to talk to one another again in terms of reconciliation and healing. Good words will turn it around, as good actions will follow.
