There are three types of evil, 1. Moral 2. Physical 3. Metaphysical
1. Moral Evil – Intentional action or inaction of an agent (person or persons). Actions without intervention or personal-group responsibility. The perception of unlimited power and domination is is used to accomplish a moral evil. Examples of moral evil could be murder, rape robbery, or by giving people license to break the law without consequence. It is an extensive list, these are but a few examples.
2. Physical Evil – Tis means bodily pain or mental anguish, (fear, illness, grief, war, etc.) A broad term, it refers also to such things as imperfection, and chance (criminals going unpunished, deformities, etc.)
3. Metaphysical Evil – Refers to the challenge of reconciling belief in an omnipotent, omni-benevolent, and omniscient God, with the existence of evil and suffering in the world. Example: Why does a loving God allow bad things to happen.
When I write, it’s a forward looking question(s) of what the future holds for my children, their children, and their children’s children. I study the history of humanity, always looking for the parallels between present and past civilizations, and what lessons we can utilize to survive our current situation. I can clearly see the parallels between ancient Rome and the present United States. As I researched, I discovered that America seems to be running the same perilous course that finally toppled ancient Rome. To be honest, I have long suspected as much, and it is sobering to say in the least. I can’t say whether or not we will end up like Rome, but what I can say is that we are matching the Roman slide as we march towards the similar evil ways that destroyed them. The following are six (6) parallels (probe.org/) between the Roman Empire and America.
Six Parallels
The first parallel is perspective. It actually involves “the way Americans see America, and more to the point, the way the tiny, elite subset of Americans who live in the nations capital see America – and see Washington itself.
Like the Romans, Americans tend to see themselves as more important than they are. They tend to have an exaggerated sense of their own presence in the world and its ability to act alone.
A second parallel involves military power. Although there are differences, some similarities stand out. Both Rome and America start to run short of people to sustain their military’s, and began to find recruits through outside sources. This is not a good long-run solution.
A third parallel can be lumped under the term, privatization. Rome had trouble maintaining a distinction between public and private responsibilities. ” America is currently in the midst of privatizing functions that used to be public tasks.
A fourth parallel concerns the way Rome and America view the outside world. In a sense, this merely the flip slide of the first parallel. If you believe your country is exceptional, you tend to devalue others, and more importantly, you tend to underestimate another nations capabilities. Rome learned this in A.D. 9, when their Legions were ambushed by a smaller German force and annihilated. The repercussions were significant.
The final parallel has to do with size and complexity. The Roman empire got to big physically and too complex to manage effectively. The larger a country or civilization, the more “it touches, and the more susceptible it is to forces beyond its control”. To use a phrase by Murphy, “Bureaucracy is the new geography”.
Of course there are differences, as it was a different age of development during the Roman Empire run, as compared to the American age of industrial and technology advances that gave America its rich history. What can be said is this, the same human errors that sunk one empire, could devour another country, ours !
The United States is in decline. This is indisputable ! The two main reasons for the decline are, “family” and “spiritual” decline. Pride of man has brought us to this point. Family values have declined because as Americans continue to ease into the comfort and convenience of their own personal lives, the need to care for their family’s spiritual and moral development decreases. Men and women in their pursuit of material wealth, personal fulfillment, sex, and other things, neglect the young minds that rely on them for discipline, instruction, guidance, and more importantly, love. Most kids these days are trapped in a technology abyss that keeps them tucked away from their parents, which seems to be mutually satisfying to both parties. In these families, discussions of any importance are mostly absent. Parents go about their business, as do the kids. With the idea of God gone, it sets up the fall of our nation, a nation that used to represent the notion that morals and ethics were essential for the survival of the Union.
The elimination of God is gradually making its way into the consciousness of every American child and adult. This evil exists because people want to be freed from the corruption and guilt of sexual sin. With the help of media, politicians, entitlement activists, compliant church leaders, and you, the evil is now encompassing almost every aspect of our daily lives. So called decent people cower and do nothing, as we are slowly being swallowed up by this juggernaut of perdition. The people that speak up about the evil doings, are shouted down, are chased, and suffer physical attack, or worse, character assassination. Politicians use the “new brownshirts” to harass or jail those that think independently, often time destroying their livelihoods, and draining their bank accounts. In the Catholic Church, (church dogma and doctrine are intact) faithful priests are ostracized and cancelled out for teaching the Truth. Prelates that embrace the modern world, and its errant ideal’s, exile the priests away from parishes to a life of the unknown. This example of cancelled priests is mirrored in the in the way that people are treated in business, schools, churches, hospitals and doctors offices, government, and just about everywhere.
Remember the saying, “Get off my back !”. We need to back off the jerks that want to control every aspect of our lives. Continuing on the course that we are following will surely prove disastrous to the nation as a whole, and to the world. Absolutely nothing makes sense anymore. We are told the lie, and we live it willingly. Why is this so ? It is because we like the convenience of not thinking ! After all, the “thinking” is being done for us, by people that tell us what we want to hear. Truth is, it is the fear of offending the ruling elite that have intimidated us through mass hysteria tactics that have been devised to keep us in line. It has created doubt, and doubt creates fear and obedience.
I have said this before, 2022 is the defining year in our history. The dissidents of the 60’s have finally reached majority in the political world. They are elderly “hippies”, and this is their last hoorah.They are smart, effective, and know how to use divisiveness tactics on ignorant, unsuspecting Americans to gain their ends. They killed the family, and in doing so, killed the morality (God) that used to fuel our nation. “Buyer Beware”, the goods you buy at the polling place, might turn around to look at you. It might be a demon that is looking at you. Enough already ! It’s late…time to say no to the hate, and to those that promote evil. Open your eyes, look around, we are surrounded by the makings of our own downfall. Defunct Roman Empire or Free America……Your choice!
Note: I am a faithful Catholic. I often reference my church, because I really do not have first hand knowledge of other churches and religions. The crisis is real, and I know that it is affecting others too.
