The world is indeed full of conspiracy theories. From the alleged alien spacecraft of Roswell N.M. to the Mayan Doomsday Calendar; our minds have created some fantastical conspiracy theories to ponder.
Many a great hollywood movie has sprung forth from these classic ideas as well as a wealth of Science Fiction novels. So what is a conspiracy theory exactly? Are all conspiracies simply theory?
True conspiracies have plagued humanity throughout all of civilized history. Fascism got it’s start in the late 19th century. In the aftermath of World War I, Fascism started planting it’s roots in a conspiracy for world domination.
Benito Mussolini, started his rise to power in 1918. In 1921 he was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies. In 1922, Mussolini lead an armed group of 30,000 men to forcibly seize power as Italy’s prime minister. Adolph Hitler, did much of the same thing to seize power in Germany.
The conspiracy escalated from there as the Fascists began to point blame at various racial, religious, political, and groups of the lesser abled for all the woes of their countries. With the media being Government controlled, the Nazis were able to bombard society with propaganda, conspiracy theories, and staged disasters that marked all of these groups as “evil.”
This world domination conspiracy resulted in World War II and the systemic extermination of millions of people in death camps built around Germany and occupied territories.
Communism and the socialist conspiracy played out very similar and was much more destructive to their societies. In the Soviet Union, twice the number of people were murdered in Stalin’s ‘Labor Camps’ as compared to Hitler’s death camps. Chairman Mao, of China, murdered more people then Stalin and Hitler combined.
All of these ruthless dictators were able to forward their conspiracies through misdirection, false information, and staged events. They all used the media, religion, politics, and science to act on their propaganda.
Have humans risen above these types of conspiracies in the modern world?
Humans have a long history of conspiring against each other. Every century is marked in some way by true conspiracies. Governments have expended exorbitant amounts of time and money to maintain power and control over their prospective citizens.
Science and technology have changed the dynamics of Government and politics. Regardless, it seems to many that humankind is just consistently repeating history, like a broken record, over and over again.
Professors of science tell everyone the same thing in College as pertains CRITICAL THINKING. It is almost as if they have a prescribed script they are reading from. You are given the tools and sources to be able to act upon your critical thinking as well as search reliable sources to research information.
Conduct your own research. Find reliable opposing ideas. Look for contradictions in all forms of ideology, Government, religion, politics, and science. Make determinations based upon your own reliable research. Does this mean you will always be correct in your thinking? No! However, if professors of science are telling you not to blindly trust anyone, it only makes sense to follow this course. It also does not mean you are a conspiracy theorist if you question.
JUST THINK WITH REASON, BALANCE, and DO NOT EXAGGERATE OR PERPETUATE MANIACAL SCENARIOS IN YOUR HEAD!
In our next article we will discuss some modern day conspiracy theories and examine, with solid evidence, how these theories have become disastrous propagandist tools used to sway large populations of people.
UNTIL THEN!!!
