The Great Resignation

The Great Resignation

I have watched and listened to the Corporate News Media,
CBS, ABC, NBC, and PBS as well as talk radio shows. Each and every one of them, has attempted to interpret unemployment figures, as well as job growth. They have coined the phrase “The Great Resignation” to explain the current hesitancy and refusal of people who do not return to their jobs. They have all tried to theorize what they believe is the cause.

Theory 1
People are refusing to return to work, because they are getting an additional
$600.00 a week while on unemployment, and they have no incentive to return to work.

Theory 2
People are hesitant to return to work, because they’re afraid of getting sick
and catching Covid-19.

Theory 3
People can’t return to work because daycare and schools
haven’t completely re-opened, and there’s no one to watch their children.

Theory 4
People are not returning to their Jobs because they have decided that the 9 to 5 world
just doesn’t work for them. They want to spend more time with their families
and are choosing to become entrepreneurs and start their own companies.

In my opinion, the Corporate News Media are Completely Out of touch with reality.

What they are calling the “Great Resignation” started around 2012,
it began with big corporations and industries driving out
any individual over the age of 45. They drove out the employees that had the experience,
and had done their jobs successfully for years. They found themselves being replaced with younger employees,
who had obtained some formal education, or a college degree. It was the Bush Administration that began the push of needing a college degree to obtain employment. That push continued through the Obama administration, with every employer demanding some form of higher education.

It was around 2012  that I met several people who had Bachelors or Masters Degrees,
who were forced to work in a lower paying job field. The primary cause of the employment disruption was the internet,
creating a national competition for the same job by thousands of prospects. Employers’ increasing demands for a formal education,

left thousands of individuals unemployed, and forced them back to school. Individuals ended up in lifelong debt, as colleges and universities increased tuitions and began raking in the cash. Many people were dropped from the unemployment rolls, and were no longer eligible for benefits. They were also no longer counted in the unemployment totals. There were just no jobs available with or without a higher education.

Employers hired most individuals who were graduating, or
were currently enrolled in school at really low wages. They used the following excuses to justify job offers at lower wages.

“You have a degree, but lack the necessary experience,”  or “although you have a degree, it’s not the right degree for  the job we are hiring for.” Job offers always came with the promise of future pay raises, but it’s funny how those future pay raises never seemed to materialize.

At the same time, by forcing older employees out, it ended the need for additional time off for medical appointments.
Employers  attempted to justify what they were doing like this;
“The older you are, the more likely you are to have medical issues.”
“Because you’re older, the frequency of your medical care also increases.”
“Meaning you’ll be receiving medical care more often and at work less.”

They found a way around paying pensions and retirement benefits. They learned that by selling their company or by being consumed by another company, or a company merger, is somewhat like a reset button. It blocks any legal action for past contracts, between the employee and the original company, and it makes all previous contracts regarding retirement, benefits, and wages
un-enforceable by the employee. Once the new company takes over and begins its reorganization,
older employees are laid off, unless there was a previously collective bargaining agreement. Older employees who were approaching retirement, “got screwed.”

Another dirty trick they were using was to lay off employees and re-name their job title. They would then hire a younger person to do the same job, but under a different title. In 2012 I watched an employment commercial by McDonalds, and was shocked by what I saw. They were recruiting those with a culinary arts degree to apply for a job to flip hamburgers. Since that time, many people I associate with are now freelancing, using their talents and abilities to put food on the table and get by.

Now, politicians have come to realize this, and are now attempting to hire
8,500 taxation and revenue positions. They want to invade our bank accounts
for any transactions over $600.00, and they are currently attempting to implement this to determine whether or not we
have paid all of our taxes. What constitutes The Great Resignation?
The pandemic and the response of our elected officials with all the bureaucracy, along with the compliance and willingness of corporations, industries, and businesses, who have instituted mandates, and restrictions issued by politicians.

“We’re mad as hell and we’re Not gonna take it anymore.”

We are done with Infringement by Government, Bureaucracies ,Corporations, Industries and Businesses.

We are done with the corporate and industrial slave mentality. People are finally waking up to the fact that CEOs and Administrations are
making 300% to 400% more than they did in the 1970s, and that people are making 10% to 20% less than they did in that same decade. As inflation is driving the cost of living up, politicians continue to institute more oppressive regulations.
They have driven businesses and jobs out of the country with over regulations,
and in doing so, they have created a supply shortage of American made products.

We have been left with no other choice but to rely upon ourselves. The cost of shipping
products into our country is skyrocketing. As a global economic depression is setting in,
getting the product to the shelf is also becoming a problem due to political overreach. People I know have had enough.
It is you who need us to make your product, and work with your customers. It is you who needs us to purchase your products or services,
keep it in mind we have learned that we do not need you to supply us with a paycheck. We will get by and survive with or without you. We will not comply with any mandates.  If you want us to do the job, you’re going to have to start working with us, on our terms.  If you want us to purchase your product or services, you’re going to have to start working with us, on our terms. We are done with infringement by government, bureaucracies, corporations, industries and businesses.
We are done with low pay, little or no benefits, as well as abusive treatment, and crappy hours. We are not your servants, subjects, or your slaves, and we will not be treated like we are. We will no longer tolerate liars, cheats, and thieves, and until you change your ways.

If you want it done, do it yourself, because we are no longer buying what you are selling.
